Day 26, 8/11/08

God at Work #1 - God blessed us with beautiful weather to walk in. We even had a light rain while the sun was shining bright.

God at Work #2 - Along our path down some beautiful country roads we came to a monument with historical information and as we began reading it a car with 2 elderly people stopped and wanted to take a picture of the information. We were able to share about our prayer walk. They asked to take a group picture of the walkers before moving to their next stop.

God at Work #3 - We got to talk to a lady returning to her property after sharing tomatoes with her neighbors. Ater talking with her we realized she received a flier about our prayer walk when we began handing out fliers announcing this event. She was amazed to see us walking her street and was excited.

Day 25, 8/10/08

God at Work #1 - Our walk today took as back some beautiful country roads. We ran into a man who had just been to the Sat Night campfire praise that one of our walkers hosts each week in her back yard. He made a comment that "this is what the church is supposed to be doing"....sharing the love of Jesus on the streets by taking church outside the building. We were encouraged by his words of affirmation.

God at Work #2 - We had a chance to walk along the Conestoga creek and felt the Lord prompting us to go put our feet in the water. The burn hazle caused discomfort for some so we asked the Lord to take the itching away from us. Soon after we were feeling fine.

Day 24, 8/4

God at Work #1 - We walked several times around a church that was our starting point for today. God had blessed us with a BEAUTIFUL sunset as we prayed over this church. Before we started, one of the youth asked God to show her an OWL on the walk today.

God at Work #2 - We ended our walk at a local veterans club. There sitting in the front yard was a HUGE tank used in battle. It reminded us of the importance of putting on our spiritual armor.

God at Work #3 - The street name where we finished is "OWL bridge road" so God did show our prayer walker on 'OWL'....maybe not in the form she expected. God has a sense of humor.

Day 23, 8/3

God at Work #1 - Several walkers recently participated in a different prayer walk around Lancaster Co. praying down the strongholds for a 'vow of silence' that the anabaptists had taken many years ago that carried over with them when they migrated from France to America . The 'vow of silence' included an agreement with the French to farm their land in exchange for their vow to not share their faith (evangelize).

As our prayer walkers began walking today from a Millersville church we found a ground marker/plack which talked about a Mennonite Evangelical church that previously occupied this site.

God a Work #2 - We had the opportunity to pray for a nearby resident that she would be healed and able to walk again. Her flag had an eagle on it.

God at Work #3 - We prayer walked around 3 churches we came to in our path today. Along the path was a site that one of the walkers felt we need to have concentrated prayer. After a fewe minutes a sign was found indicating it was a Masonic lodge.

God at Work #4 - One walker felt we needed to bring the walk to an end earlier than expected. As we returned back to our starting point, a minor motorcycle accident had just occurred and we were able to pray with the persons involved. Being shook up, the rider didn't feel comfortable riding the bike home. One of the walkers volunteered to take the bike to their house for them to pick up later. We shared the love of Jesus with them and they said they were very blessed by our being there at the right time.

Friday, July 25, 2008

Day 22, 7/21

God at Work #1 - A prayer walker who had been seeking employment found a job today.

We prayed over several churches along our path as well as Millersville University.

Day 21, 7/14

We prayed over two churches along our walk. We ended our walk with a beautiful orange sunset that lit up the sky.

God at Work #1 - A new youth joined our prayer walk and brought a 'penny whistle' for worship time. He blessed us with his beautiful music.

Monday, July 14, 2008

Day 20, 7/13

Praise - We were walking up a long gradual incline on a busy road. The sun was bright however, a nice breeze kept us cool so we could walk longer than we expected.

God at Work #1
- We had a great time of prayer with a walker who will be leaving on a missions trip. A few had to leave to attend a local event about William Penn which is a key component to the vision of this Prayer Walk.

God a Work #2 - A walker had an opportunity to pray with an oriental man along our path. He was very receptive and happy to have someone pray with him. As we walked further a man driving by stopped as he recognized one of the walkers. He had previously attended the walker's church. We prayed with him before he headed off to work.

Day 19, 7/7/08

God at Work #1 - We had 3 new youth join the walk today....one of them brought a guitar to worship with us. Someone shared a scripture passage in Psalms that inspired another walker to sing us a song about eagles. Being new to the group, she wasn't aware we chose Isaiah 40:31 about the eagle as our theme verse.

God at Work #2 - Two people had a chance to pray for s lady walking her dog. When they asked her if there was anything they could pray for her, she immediately said " Yes...I am having foot surgery tomorrow." After the two walkers prayed with her she said her leg felt better already.

God at Work #3 - Rain and thunderstorms were looming all evening but we were able to complete the walk just in time. The much-needed rain let loose on our drives home.

Day 18, 7/6/08

After we spent time in worship and praise, one of the prayer walkers shared a request from a neighbor to have the group come and pray over her property in Manor Township. We felt the Holy Spirit was prompting us go there today and prayer walk at that location. All who attended were blessed by God's favor and mercy.

6/29/07 - Vacation

Prayer walkers on vacation at Creation Festival and other locations this week.

Saturday, June 28, 2008

Day 17 , 6/23/08

God at Work #1 - A lady who lived at a nearby apartment community allowed us to pray for her severe back pain. After praying with her she said the pain was almost all gone and minimal. She was able to bend her back which would have caused her pain before.

Tuesday, June 17, 2008

Day 15, 6/16/08

God at Work #1 - A severe thunderstorm warning was announced prior to our walk beginning. Around the time we start our walk, the sun came out and the storm blew over us. NO rain in sight.

God at Work #2 - One of the walkers felt the Lord wanted us to go inside a local restaurant. Shortly after arriving, a connection was made with some patrons sitting adjacent to us. It turns out the couple pastors a church in Columbia. They shared our vision regarding a revival to take place in this area and were extremely excited about the prayer walk. Email addresses were exchanged as we recognized this as a strategic contact.

God at Work #3 - One of the walkers shared a testimony how God had provided in several different, unique ways for her family to travel this week to Lakeland, Florida to visit the revival that is happening in that area.

Day 14, 6/15/08

God at Work #1 - We had several opportunities to pray with various individuals we encountered along today's prayer walk. As we walked by a local bar, one of the prayer walkers went up to a lady and started sharing the love of Jesus with her. She invited her to come out to the Sat night 'campfire praise' at 1801 Prospect Road. She was sooo excited and even offered to bring food to share.

God at Work #2 - One of the walkers reached out to a man who had been in a car accident. He explained that he was given money to come back here to see his boys before he would be going to jail next week. He asked us to pray over his injured arm and leg. He said it was a divine appointment he ran into us and was very happy to see us. He said he needed peace over his future.

God at Work #3 - A carload of 'break-dancers' stopped as they recognized one of the prayer walkers. He met our walker at National Day of Prayer. He was trying to find a way to make contact to have her pray for this group of break-dancers who were ready to go on a trip to Switzerland. They felt it was a divine appointment they recognized her walking along the street and could stop to have the group pray and intercede for their talents to be taken to the nation.

God at Work #4 - A skateboarder met us on the road and explained that he had been out to the Sat night 'campfire praise' and met a man there who had been a mentor for him. As a result, he is now reaching out and sharing Christ to those in the prison and those into drugs as he used to be.

Monday, June 9, 2008

Day 13, 6/9/08

God at Work #1 - Despite the intense heat advisory, a large group came out to walk. We had one new person join the walk.

God at Work #2 - A young adult who occasionally walks with us, happens to mow grass for a lady who lives near the walk for today. Our group felt led to go visit her. She warmly welcomed us inside and we prayed with her and sang 'Amazing Grace' after sharing our story from Sunday. We asked the Lord to heal her back pain.

Day 12, 6/8/08

God at Work #1 - Two of the walkers stayed behind to pray outside the church where the walk began today. They had several opportunities to encourage the pastors.

God at Work #2 - The walkers came to a trailer park and prayed with a Spanish-speaking family. We explained our vision of unity among God's people and how it relates to William Penn's Holy Spirit. Also, we got to share the prophetic word from Cindy Jacobs, that God is going to start a great move in the Spanish speaking people. They were excited to receive a prayer of blessing over them. We felt unity and a bond with these people, despite that we couldn't communicate without a translator.

God at Work #3 - After walking, we returned to the bar we visited on Day 10 to participate in karaoke. Two college students were led to go along and sing the song "I can only Imagine". The patrons were touched and the atmosphere in the bar changed! From then on, people reached out to talk to our group.

God at Work #4 - One of the walkers asked permission to sing 'Amazing Grace' acappella and the lady in charge said 'no' to acappella. Later, when the group decided to sing a karaoke Christian song, one of the men said "I don't sing well, but I want to pray a blessing over this bar instead'. After praying, the lady put the CD in a brand new karaoke machine only to find it didn't work. She put it in a 2nd brand-new machine and that one didn't work either. She said, "This never happened before". A patron from the bar came up and asked the lady if she would play karaoke "Amazing Grace" WITHOUT KNOWING WE HAD JUST REQUESTED THAT SAME SONG earlier. God answered our prayers to sing this song. We teamed up with the man and all sang it together. The bar was QUIET and all the patrons were watching as they mouthed the words. We had a chance to mingle with them afterwards. One of the patrons said "the church people never come in here" and kept hugging us. Upon reflecting, we realized the Lord shut down the noises of the bar and TWO karaoke machines so that it was quiet for singing 'Amazing Grace' acappella. The bar tender was beaming and the patrons welcomed us back.

God at Work #5 - One of the walkers could not participate in the karaoke due to a baptism at her church. They sang AMAZING GRACE acapella at the end of the service!
Another walker who also was unable to participate in Karaoke was at home and felt that God impressed on him that our group should be singing 'AMAZING GRACE'. God is affirming us over and over that he is in this prayer walk.

Day 11, 6/2/08

God at Work #1 - Our walk today took us by another group home. We stopped in to see if we could pray for the residents. The new owner of this group home, warmly welcomed us inside. With tears in her eyes, she explained she was having a bad day and was blessed by our stopping in and praying with her.

God at Work #2 - One of the residents wanted to ask if she could fly our flags and praise the Lord while we sang hymns to the rersidents.

God at Work #3 - Another resident asked Jesus into her heart and asked forgiveness of her sins.

Monday, June 2, 2008

Day 10, 6/1/08

God at Work #1 - As we began walking today a loud roll of thunder came out of nowhere. The sun was shining bright. We felt the presence of the Lord directing our path.

God at Work #2 - We had an opportunity to stop and pray for several people and were even asked to prayer walk around someone's home.

God at Work #3 - At the end of our walk there was a local bar across from where we stopped We prayed as a group and collectively felt the Spirit prompting us to go inside. We ordered soda's and had opportunities to share with the patrons about the prayer walk. One of the walkers prayed with the waitress, shared her testimony, and give her a pocket testament. The patrons invited us back for karaoke next Sun eve. One of the walkers remembered she has Christian karaoke music and suggested we return next week to sing to them about God's love.

Wednesday, May 28, 2008

Day 9, 5/26/08

God at Work #1 - A youth came out to the prayer walk that we were able to encourage. This same youth was at the Sat night campfire and was inspired to come back again and bring someone else.

God at Work #2 - As we were walking, we met up with two people, one in a wheelchair. She was excited to see us because she recognized one of the walkers who had prayed for her recently at the grocery store. She was just telling her friend about this grocery store encounter as we came upon them on the prayer walk. The original prayer for her healing in the grocery story has her believing in faith for it. The group prayed for her and shared Mark 8:21-24 with her.

God at Work #3 - Two other ladies we met on the walk also asked for prayer. We were gladly received as we stepped out in faith in asking people we came across if they needed prayer. We also prayed over 3 churches along our path as well as the "Field of Screams'. There was a great sense of unity and knowing we doing the Lord's will. Come out and be blessed.

Sunday, May 25, 2008

Day 8, 5/25/08

God at Work #1 - One of the walkers needed a drink while walking. We stopped at Wendy's but the line was too long. Soon after we resumed walking, we came across a Rita's Italian Ice that was giving out free samples TODAY. God blessed us with something better.

God at Work #2 - We walked by a 'Group Home' in Mountville where the residents welcomed us to come sit on the porch with them. One of the residents recognized a walker because she had previously attended a Sat night campfire/praise time at the walker's home. (See blog for invite to the weekly campfire/praise eve). She was SO excited about this. The residents also recalled meeting us as we handed out fliers for the prayer walk at the National Day of Prayer event held in May at Long's Park.

God at Work #3 - One of the 'Group Home' residents received prayer for her arthritis. The group also prayed for the other residents. We enjoyed the fellowship with them.

Wednesday, May 21, 2008

Day 7 - 5/19/08

God at Work #1 - Before starting our walking, we prayed that more youth would join us. As we were walking, God put a group of 3 young men in our path. They said they are in a heavy metal Christian rock band and were excited to hear about the Prayer Walk. We invited them to join us and bring their instruments to worship with us.

God at Work #2 - We had enough time at the end of our walk to worship in music and enjoy a beautiful sunset. A group that went to Israel gave testimony of incredible miracles that took place on their trip. Too many to write about, but join the walk and we will share the stories with you. God is good!

Testimony: One of the college students on the prayer walk received back his PHEAA state grant. Bad news - he is going to receive $1,000 less for next year. Instead of being discouraged, he submitted it to the Lord. His mom started praying over this year's grades because a 3.2 GPA was required to keep the scholorships. Since he received a 'C' in one class his grade point average would drop. A miracle was needed to keep the scholorships. Five minutes after praying, his mom could hear her son ringing a bell shouting "Praise the Lord". He found out his grades on the internet were all A's (besides the 'C') which was a miracle because the classes were extremely difficult to get an A in. This rounded the GPA to 3.2 which will allow him to keep both scholorships for 2009. PRAISE THE LORD!!

Monday, May 19, 2008

Day 6 - 5/18/08

God at Work 1 - Great response of walkers came out despite the rain. Everyone was blessed to be able to pray in unity with Oswego Baptist Church members which was our stopping point for our walk today. This church is excited about joining us in the future walks.

Monday, May 12, 2008

Day 5 - 5/11/08

PRAISE - God held the rain for Day 5 of the prayer walk.

God at Work #1 - Most of our regular walkers went to Israel this week. Being Mother's Day we didn't know how many would come out. God blessed us with 2 new people walking today.

God at Work #2 - As we started with praise before walking, several large birds began to circle above us. The air was calm before we started but as we sang, a big gust of wind came. The presence of the Lord was with us.

God at Work #3 - When the walk ended, we went down by the river to pray. One individual re-dedicated his commitment to the Lord. It was a rich time of sharing testimonies. There was affirmation that future baptisms would take place in this river.

Wednesday, May 7, 2008

Day 4 - 5/5/08

PRAISE - Perfect weather conditions for Day 4 of the prayer walk

God at Work #1 - We didn't have anyone to lead worship prior beginning Day 4 walk. Just at the right time, God led someone with a guitar to our location without prior knowledge of our exact meeting place.

God at Work #2 - Many new people with diverse cultural backgrounds came to Day 4 of the prayer walk. The unity was beautiful along with the praise and worship time. We felt the Holy Spirit wanted us to praise the entire evening.

God at Work #3 - God gave us a time of sharing and testimonies of revival breaking out in various areas. Our evening ended with a most beautiful sunset.

Monday, May 5, 2008

Day 3 - 5/4/08

PRAISE - Warm sunshine and a cool breeze for Day 3 of the prayer walk

  • God at Work #1 - A parishner of the church we prayed for on Day 1, shared a story about the "eagle wings and Isaiah 40:31" theme. This church used this same scripture in teaching recently one Sun am. A picture of the children sitting on the front steps of the church was taken that day. A large shadow appears in the picture. The children pointed out, and everyone agreed, it looked just like an eagle's wing covering the front of the church. There is only one tree on the property and was it was not in a position to cast any shadow.
  • God at Work #2 - The same woman said their church was cooperating with another local church to host a combined Bible School this year. She was amazed at the unity between both churches!!
  • God at Work #3 - Two people who came for worship were leaving to go to a prayer event at the Chesapeake 'KEY' Bridge. It has been prophesied that revival will break out along the Susquehannna/Chesapeake Bay areas. A set of KEYS were found while walking along River Road. We will be able to identify the owner by taking the keychain store card to the supermarket. Pray for a divine appointment to share the gospel when we return the keys.
  • God at Work #4 - Three different groups on the Day 3 walk were able to pray for a man sitting outside. We are believing in faith for his healing of diabetes. He was encouraged.
  • God at Work #5 - As we neared the end of the walk and needed some encouragement, we passed a parked car with 3 bumper stickers reading..."Be of good courage", "God's Girl", "Be Strong" kept us going.

Tuesday, April 29, 2008

Day 2 - 4/28/08

PRAISE - As we met to begin our journey for Day 2 of the prayer walk, rain was in the forecast; however, the clouds parted and the sun peeked out at 7 pm. The rain had stopped just prior to gathering.

  • God at Work #1 - Two people came with guitars who never played together before and the music was beautiful. They started with the song 'Holy, Holy, Holy'. One guitarist shared that she had seen what appeared to be an eagle and felt God was using that to prompt her to come since the Eagle wings are part of the theme for this prayer walk.
  • God at Work #2- Not long after the singing began, a train came through 50 ft behind us. Part of the cargo included approx. 100+ brand new John Deer and HI combines used by farmers for HARVESTING this fall. (It has been prophesied that revival will take place along the Susquehanna river.) These combines were a reminder for a coming HARVEST of souls for God's Kingdom.
  • God at Work #3- Someone shared a testimony about a dead branch that had broken off a tree in their back yard several months ago. The branch was pulled into a dry area until Winter was over. They brought the branch to the prayer walk to show others the unusual 'Y' shape and the new life/budding taking place on this 'dead' branch. Being involved with landscaping, he had never heard or seen a dead branch giving new buds before.

DAY 1 - 4/27/08

  • God at Work #1 - As people arrived, a man in the parking lot pointed out 2 eagles perched in a tree in the area. (Eagles are part of the theme)
  • God at Work #2- On Sunday a violinist came to share a new song just written..... Without no prior knowledge about the theme, the lyrics were about Eagles. As we sang this song there were 2 eagles soaring above!
  • God at Work #3 -The first stop along the walk was at Washington Boro UM Church. After singing a few hymns, several Eagles were soaring above us.
Sunday's Testimony:

One family shared a testimony of a dangerous kidney transplant and God's faithfulness to their 3 generations represented there that day.

Another person showed up who didn't think she could attend due to her husband's long-term illness. God gave her a Word from the Bible to encourage those on the journey. She went home to get her husband so he could be encouraged by the praise and worship.
